Abstract
Verb construction is a natural and Important phenomenon that is found in the grammar of all existing languages. This study is an attempt to compare and contrast two different languages from two different language families amd find similarities and differences existing between them. The data collected for this study was obtained from a secondary source, journal, articles and textbooks and a descriptive analysis was used to analyse these data. Verbs in Igbo can be classified into simple, compound and complex. This study focuses on the verbal complex of Igbo language and on the phrasal verb in German language.
