Abstract
Wind energy has become one of the fastest-growing renewable energy sources because it produces electricity without burning fossil fuels. As more countries invest in wind power, keeping wind turbines operating safely and efficiently has become increasingly important. Traditional maintenance methods are expensive, time-consuming, and sometimes dangerous for workers. New autonomous technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence (AI), smart sensors, and computer vision, are changing how wind farms are inspected and maintained. These technologies can find problems earlier, reduce repair costs, improve worker safety, and increase energy production. This paper reviews how autonomous systems are improving modern wind farms and reducing their environmental impact. It also examines future renewable energy technologies, including vertical-axis wind turbines, decentralized energy systems, hybrid wind and solar systems, and flexible solar panels that can be installed on utility poles. Although these technologies still face challenges, current research shows they have the potential to improve the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of renewable energy in the future.
