Abstract
The increasing contamination of aquatic systems by synthetic dyes like MB demands sustainable, efficient, green and promising remediation approach, like photocatalysis. These studies focus on engineering a novel photo catalyst Sn-doped g-C3N4 /GO by using the hydrothermal method, aiming to enhance catalytic efficiency under natural sunlight. The morphology, optical properties, elemental composition, particle size, band gap, and functional group detection were done by using spectral techniques like FTIR, SEM/EDX, UV Visible spectroscopy and XRD. The lower angle peak shift in XRD confirms the doping of Sn+2 in g-C3N4.The maximum degradation of MB was about 94% at 6 pH after 90 min under visible light as compared to Sn-doped g-C3N4 was about 70% degradation efficiency increased by supporting graphene oxide. The statistical analysis for the interaction of different parameters was performed by response surface methodology.
