Abstract
Ectopic eruption of teeth outside the dental arch is an uncommon condition. Although ectopic teeth have been reported in the maxillary sinus, nasal cavity, and mandibular condyle, their occurrence within the infratemporal fossa remains exceptionally rare. We report the case of a 39-year-old woman who presented with recurrent sinusitis. Computed tomography (CT) demonstrated an ectopic tooth located within the left infratemporal fossa, associated with chronic inflammatory changes of the ipsilateral maxillary sinus consistent with chronic sinusitis. Infratemporal ectopic teeth are extremely rare, and their origin may be developmental or iatrogenic. Multidetector CT plays a pivotal role in diagnosis, assessment of complications, and therapeutic planning.
